Using new and innovative methods to accurately mix and match colors and paint what lies before your eyes, the secrets of acrylic and oil paint will be unveiled. PORTRAIT PAINTING

CLASS DESCRIPTION: A well-executed portrait is expected to show the inner essence of the subject. This class offers instruction in painting the human face and body, giving attention to shape, form, light, and shadow. It also explores the use of color and composition for psychological effect. Students will learn how to emphasize emotional qualities and personal responses to their portrait subjects in their images. Students will draw inspiration from the masters but be assisted in finding their own individual style as they push the boundaries of formal design, composition, texture and use of color.
